Hosting a fireside

Unloading the dishwasher... by Ethan..:

Visiting the Zolinger pig. Now all kids want a pig.
Ethan asks daily if we can swing by the feed store to see if they have gotten any more pigs. This one lives in their house and baxkyard. The joke here is if Porter gets one, one day pig will be dinner. If Sophie gets one it will be a pet. As a baby a pig is darling.. too bad they get so big!

Happy 40th Birthday Babe!

We tried to make it a birthday weekend. We floated the river as a family in the morning. In the evening I took Doug to the Tejas Rodeo. We are at the steakhouse, watched the Rodeo, listened to live music and got to dance until out feet gave out. Sunday we had ate

Landa Park Dolphin Swim Team

There are volleyball courts near the pool. Sometimes the boys play in the sand while we wait for the big kids to swim.

Sometimes the boys play in the park while we wait for Sophie to finish practice.

We miss the 🐸 Frog Swim team, but have tried to have a good attitude and embrace our new team. The kids are getting really good coaching and are learning so much. They have all improved their swimming a lot.

Landa Park Dolphins

Swim banquet. All the kids were recognized for completing the mile swim. What an accomplishment! I am so proud of them. It is such a big deal to swim a mile.

Sophie received the High Point award for her age group. She missed two swim meets and state. It was phenomenal that she still got the High Point award. The coaches also took into consideration things like good attitude and attendance at practice and improvement over the season. I guess it pays to smile through your punishment planks for beis no late!

The reason she missed state is because all of her events would've been on Sunday. I feel like her still being able to get the High Point award was a blessing from Heavenly Father  for her obedience. She would have done very very well at state. She qualified in all her events and likely would have placed in all her events. I was also grateful to the coaches for respecting our decision to not swim on Sunday.

Swim is over! Compared to Houston, it was the season that never ended. I am glad the kids swam. They learned a lot. Porter was traveling and had to work a lot, but he did well in the races he was able to swim and he for some good coaching tips. Preston advanced from can-do to bronze. He had to test 5 events to move up and ended with two hour practices. Wahoo! Ethan tested 3 events to move from minnow to can-do. Wahoo! Ethan took 1st at backstroke in region. And Preston placed in all of his events. Basically, Repasi's Rock! The coaching was phenomenal. But we are ready to sleep in!!

Paper plates

No paper plate is safe, no straw, no cardboard box is safe from Ethan's creative juices! He loves to create and craft. I love his creations from ordinary household objects. He knows how to keep himself busy.
