UIL prep

Sophie practiced hard for her UIL competition.  She read the Shel Silverstein poem I am not going to school today.  We practiced in the evening together. Adding animation and dramatic pauses.  Then we would record it and watch it.  She came home with a 5th place medal!  Congrats Sophie!
Porter also worked hard on his UIL, we just didn't get any pictures of him.  He placed in his events too! Prose and Chess Puzzles.

Nursing - 2-20 & 2-27

One of the little boys took these pictures.  Since they are decent, I thought I would include them on my blog, to help remind me and the future mothers who look at these books how important I feel nursing is.  I love the time to bond with my baby. I think it's inspired of the Lord as way to give busy moms a chance to rest every few hours.  It's an opportunity to sit down and, despite all of the other things that need to get done, and that are fighting for my attention, allows me to enjoy my baby. The kids are babies for such a fleeting time.  Nursing helps preserve that time.  There are so many health benefits for mom and baby.  It's so hard at the beginning.  I feel like it takes at least six weeks to get supply and demand worked out, and for the soreness to fade.  It's so worth it in the end, for the financial benefits, and the ease of not having to worry about bottles... So while it's so hard, it's so worth it, and I am grateful that I have been able to nurse each one of my babies over a year.

Logan ... Day 6

Watching over baby ...

This is how I found the boys at 6:57 this morning... I think we are all smitten with awe and wonder of this new little spirit who has blessed our lives...
