Ethan really enjoys primary. In fact, at the end of last year, for what ever reason, he refused to go to nursery any more. But he would sit in primary. Since he was so close to being in primary anyways, we decided not to fight the nursery battle, and just sat with him in primary. He sings all the songs, he listens with rapt attention. He remembers what he learns and bring up things during the week that I knew he must have talked about on Sunday in his class. His favorite spot to sit is in the front row, on the inner isle seat, that way he doesn't miss a thing. Some of the lessons that have made an especially significant impact are:
"I am special."
"I am special."
Families are forever mom... They are!" He told me this one as we were driving, and he got very animated and full of expression. He sensed the importance and weight of this topic, and wanted to make sure I understood it too. He was asking me about death and resurrection, and wanted to make sure that I knew that death was not the end of us being a forever family."
"I like the primary Program practice."

One of Ethan's favorite things to do is to make (and eat) homemade bread. He loves to help me roll it out. As we were rolling it out last time, he wanted to do the whole thing himself, but he isn't quite big enough to reach the far end of the bread... So as we rolled, he would work on one side, then get off his chair, and push it to the other side of the island, and roll out the next side. Then he would roll it up as far as he could, get off his chair, push his chair back to the original side, and finish rolling the dough so it would be in loaf form. It was darling and so ingenious!
When I make whole wheat bread I use my Bosch mixer (Doug surprised me with the mixer and the wheat grinder several years ago as a combination Mother's Day/Birthday present- Love It!) I make eight loaves at a time, and freeze them. It works like a charm, and we can enjoy healthy, homemade bread
