Halloween Fun

Trick or Treat at the library...above...
And below... Spooky Music group piano lesson with sugar cookies.

Trick or Treat downtown... sadly, it was so crowded, we hit a few stores, turned around and headed back to our car and drove to the park. We played there instead of battling the crowds.
Preparing games for Trunk or Treat. Ethan is so resourceful and helpful. We had to help to prepare two games for the youth to lead for the carnival and one for Cubs (they picked need dart Skelton shooting. Preston was heavily involved in the planning of this one.)

Trick or Treating in Oak Run... (Sophie is an m and m) Luke is wearing (all his own idea) the Peter Pan costume I made for Porter when Porter was 4.

Halloween 2005

blast from the past... as I've been packing I came across this picture.  The glass is stuck to the photograph.  To preserve it, I snapped this picture.   Aren't they cute? Luke wore that Peter Pan costume this year for Halloween.

Picking up trash and Landa Park with Cubs

Snake Farm

Halloween weekend, kids in costume, get in free at the Snake Zoo. It was a perfect way to check it out! We hated the bees and loved the white lions! Notice Ethan peeking out from corn maze!

Six Flags

Sophie was invited to go to Six Flags with a friend. As we looked at ticket prices, we realized it was cheaper to buy a season pass than it was to buy a day pass. Then we discovered it was even cheaper to buy 4 or more... so we decided to get season passes for everyone . It pays for itself in one visit... then we saw the meal plan... needless to say we are set! Sadly, when I got there, I realized that I have never been to such a big roller coaster park. These are the real deal!! And so lost on me... my stomach and my nerves can't do it. Luckily I have little kiddos who can only do the kiddo rides, which are just my speed!

The boys love to play in the sprinkler. Then they come inside and take forever long baths. Even Logan is getting into the spirit. Lately, it's been a daily occurrence.

The Principals's Award

It was no great shock that Ethan received one of the few Prinicpal's Award. His teacher said he was a delight to have in class. Well behaved, inquisitive, kind to others...

Monkys Jumping on the Bed

You know when you have a feeling that something isn't a good idea, and you ignore that thought, rather than think through the consequences fully?? Perfect example right here... the kids all, one by one, crawled in to join the baby...  Then they started singing the Monkey Jumping on the Bed song... It was cute, they were laughing, and having a jolly old time... You can see Logan's smile here.  I stopped videoing and was about to say, let's be done with this game when the bottom of the crib fell out!!! Four boys tumbled... Bedtime was delayed as I tried to put the crib back together, and ended up pulling out the pack n play.  This crib has been in our family since we had Porter.  It was to make it through Logan!  Luckily Doug was able to put the crib back together, and we were all reminded...." No more monkey's jumpin on the bed!!!"

Luke-alligator caused scratch

Luke is hilarious, and he comes up with hilarious stories.  He had a large scratch on his face.  I didn't know where it came from.  When asked about it, either by myself of someone else.  He would start telling a huge hilarious long and detailed story about getting scratched by an alligator.  He's got quite an imagination in there. If the story wasn't so preposterous, you would think, by his delivery, that he was telling the truth.  He sounds like he knows exactly what he's talking about.

Embracing the Unicorn (our new mascot) for Homecoming! We traded Spartans for Unicorns... but it's all good. The kids are having fun with it.  Porter's first reaction upon hearing that we were going to be unicorns, was to express intent to purchase a unicorn costume.  The water tower near the high school even says, entering Unicorn County.  Love it!!!

Luke: (after he put his jeans on for the first time this season) look! I have a pocket!  Now I can get a phone! Just like Porter.
said with much enthusiasm and jumping around...
