Gingerbread Houses

Ethan is keeping us on track for the holidays. He would not rest until we decorated our gingerbread houses (even though Christmas is over a month away) 😀

Shopping for manners banquet

The Manner's Banquet is a big deal in 5th grade.  It called for a new dress!!

Baby Sleep

Region Band

Porter's a rock star on the Tuba.  He competed against 17 other schools to take first chair in Region Band.  Wow!  What an accomplishment!

First dance

Porter went to his first church dance.  It was a big  deal!  He really looked forward to the night, he even went out and bought a new blue dress shirt for the occasion... He wanted pink, but settled for blue when he couldn't find the right shade of pink.  He had a great night and danced almost every dance.

Ethan loves FHE.  He will ask me multiple nights during the week if it's FHE night.  He is always excited when it's FHE, and disappointed when it's not.  Mom always picks charades for the activity.  The kids often pick an episode of Studio C or America's Funniest Home Videos.  Here's a picture of the kids acting out the story of The Good Samaritan. Sophie is the mule. Good memories.

District Cross Country

Porter had a great final run at districts, coming in at around 12:40 for two miles.  He had a great improvement over the season!  He secured a medal with that time, crossing someone at the last second in order to win that medal.  Boy, can he sprint!

Zoo with Grandma Barbara

Doug took half a day off and we took Preston and Sophie out of school an hour early so we  could enjoy the zoo with Grandma Barbara.  As luck would have it, it was also a free day... so we were lucky to find a parking spot! After the zoo, we attended Porter's last football game of the season at the big, new, 8 million dollar stadium on Texas Drive. Porter played awesome, scoring his first touch down, with a great catch, and sprint into the end zone, guys diving and missing trying to catch him.  We finished the day off with a late dinner at our favorite Culvers.
