Half Marathon Stars and Stripes

Not sure why I thought it was a good idea to run a race in July!! But I won for Master's!!! and took 3rd overall with a time of 1:45:29 (8:03 pace) I one a few passes to the drive in and bragging rights.

Porter's Wisdom Teeth

I was completely unprepared for how he would be when he came out of sedation.  I was scared.  He thought he was a true Ninja that needed more training.  Those nurses were quick.  He wanted to face time all his friends, unbuckled himself in the car and started crawling around looking for his phone, he was easily distracted at the thought of a milkshake, but never for long, he smeared the blood dripping out of his mouth over his cheeks as warrior paint, he ran about the house inside and out, he locked himself in the game room, and then he couldn't sleep until 2 the next morning.  I told Doug, I will never do that alone again.  I will always take another adult, preferably dad, with me when our other kids need to have their wisdom teeth out.  We can laugh now, but it was pretty frightening at the time.

We had such a great time with Steve and Pam and their kids.  We stayed up so late every night enjoying the great restaurants around.  We slept in and had slow mornings, then went out for the rest of the day full of fun. Such enjoyable, happy memories with our cousins!!!

Hair Horn

Logan worked in vain trying to get his hair right. I told him that hair sometimes has a mind of it’s own and it does what it wants. This distressed him even more. I put some dinosaur hair product in his hair and told him to do his best... he did!

Tennis Player of the Month!!

Preston played his first tennis tournament ever last week. He rocked it. He played 3 games. And won two of them. He scored points on the other games. He really held his own. He had such a great attitude, no complaining at all, he played his hardest (even after swimming the 5 events maximum at his swim meet that morning.) He totally rocked in and his coaches and I couldn’t have been prouder!
