With two years of honor choir under his belt, Porter performed his final concert.

Business trip to Dallas

 

 

Doug invited me come along with him to Dallas.  The J* family took the other kids at night, I farmed Preston out during the day, and Luke and I accompanied Doug on his trip.  We had a nice, relaxing time.  Hope we can do it again soon!

Spring Piano Recital

Preston and Sophie both played songs in the spring recital. They did so well! The recital was in a recital hall at Kingwood College.

Sophie played Eccosaise and Christmas Day Secrets. She is so musical and has learned so much since she first started !

Preston played the right hand of Lightly Row and Cuckoo. He wanted me to sit by him for moral support while he played... Cute!

Ethan didn't want to be left out. At the end of every piano lesson he always jumps up onto the piano seat saying "Ethan turn, Ethan turn." Today was no exception. When Preston finished playing, he started walking up to the piano saying, "Ethan turn, Ethan turn." It was a heart breaking sight to see the disappointment in his countenance when I told him he has to wait until the end.

As winner of the kite tails award, a reading contest at school, Porter had the privilege of wrestling Mr. Simmons, the vice principal, in his sumo wrestling suit.  Porter won, of course!

The Army Crawl

A just man

In scripture study we were defining a just man. Preston piped in. Oh, I know, like Justin Bieber, he's a just man... Just,  Justin... Preston cracks me up.  I love how his mind works.

Hand Me Downs

With so many boys, we live in a world of hand me downs, which is so great, but every once in a while it is fun to see what the kids would pick I given the chance. Preston needed a new swim shirt. While picking one out, Ethan requested one too. He fell in live with the monkey shirt, how could I say no? Then we had to get the matching swim trunks. He wore the shirt home and put the trunks on at home as soon as he heard we were going swim team. He wore it so proudly. He was super disappointed to learn that just because you're wearing a suit, doesn't mean you get to swim. But he sure looked good. Wore it all day. Wore it to sleep...

Not too shabby, considering it was an evening race, which I never do, and I had been sick with a UTI that week.  This was a really fun race, billed as a girls night out.  We got our nails done, listened to some great live music, ate food from My Fit Foods, and went out for Frozen Yogurt afterwards.  Just another reason why I love running!
