Honor Roll
Preston has been working so hard this year. Hooray for all that studying and reading practice! Sophie and Porter made their honor rolls too, sadly, I didn't get any photos of them. But we are super proud of all of them!

Roller Skating
Some Christmas break fun (or torture for mom). Porter and Sophie had fun, but it was hard for Ethan and Preston. Lots of hand holding, and falling, and changing from skates to blades and back again. Combined with a baby... it was very tricky... to put it nicely... Not one of my finer patient mom moments...

New Years Run
What a great race!!! I felt amazing. Around mile 10, I looked at my watch and realized that if I kept up my pace, I was going to PR by a few minutes (not a few seconds). I was thrilled! I knew I was running a pace that I could easily sustain, and I did. What a great feeling! It was really rewarding. I feel like its been a long time since I've been able to do something like that. Since I wasn't planning on PRing, it was a pleasant, delightful, invigorating surprise. I really thought I had hit my peak half marathon time at 1:45... I was wrong!!! So happy!!! My gps even said I ran a little longer than 13.1.
My official results were as follows:

rank for 1st half-33rd/time- 55:22
rank for 2nd half- 21st/ time-50:54
(gun times... real splits would be a little less... and they were negative splits... that's the goal!)..
Official chip time: 1:41:49... average 7:48 per mile
place overall: 24th
place overall for women: 5th!!!
When life gives you lemons... Sell them!
We have two lemons in our backyard that produce a lot of lemons at the end of each year. This year, instead of juicing all of them, the kids picked them and sat out in front of the house and sold them. They each made about $10, not a bad profit. Sophie made the sign, and had the greatest endurance for patiently waiting for customers. But they all spent time peddling their homegrown goods.
