Destination Imagination

Luke wasn't too excited to do Destination Imagination again. I promised him it would be better this year. He would have teachers who knew what they were doing (instead of me!) and he would be with kids his own age... and I was right. He is loving it. And I think they're loving him.

The Sound of Music

When your dear friend is Maria in the Sound of Music, you and your daughter (who is dear friends of the actress) go watch and support! Even if it's in San Antonio! Ethan came too because he is good friends with Cameron. We loved seeing the Smith's! Sophie talked me into stopping in New Braunfels to go to our favorite consignment dress store to look for a prom dress.

Spring Baptist Basketball

This was our first season with Spring Baptist Basketball. It was a good experience. Luke got to play on Keo's team. McKay Hansen was the coach and Doug was the assistant coach.

We had signed Logan up to play also, but his broken arm put a stop to his season before it even got started.

Bird Aviary Closet

Ethan created a PowerPoint to convince us that his closet in the new house should only be for his birds.

Love

We were listening to the radio on the way home. Delilah came on and was dedicating a song for a kid who said he had never been in love before. Logan was shocked, outraged almost, as he exclaimed, “What! He’s an orphan!” Then he rambled on that the boy has never been loved and how sad he’d not had a family or siblings. He extended it to maybe he had one of those mom’s who tried to abort their baby because she didn’t love it and he survived (linked directly to a discussion we’d had with Sophia when she was doing a research paper on adoption. Doug told us stories about some abortion survivors.)

Promises

Today in primary the Bishop was talking to the primary kids and asked what the kids knew about promises. Logan raised his hand and said we’re going on a cruise in 2 or 3 weeks. When we asked if the boat would sink my mom said, I can’t make any promises that the boat won’t sink.
