Cade's Cove
We drove the 11 mile loop of Cade's Cove, a valley in the Smokey Mountains where early settlers lived. We hiked, explored, toured old cabins, churches and sawmill. Along the way we had our first sighting of bears in the Smokey Mountains! We enjoyed a picnic at one of the picnic spots along the way.
Laurel Falls Hike and Up Close with a Mama Bear and Baby Bear
I have a deep respect and fear of running into bears in the wild, but these bears seemed much more interested in gathering bugs and seeds than worrying about what we were doing. We saw the Mama bear and cub on the way up to the water fall and on the way back down. We watched them for a long time. I still can't believe how close we were to them. It definitely made our trip complete to have multiple bear sightings!
Pirate Show
We loved this show! It was Logan's favorite part of the trip. We felt like we were living a real live Pirates of the Caribbean adventure.
