Principal’s Award

It’s a huge honor to be chosen for the Principal’s Award. The teacher picks one student per 9 week grading period, which equals to 4 awards per teacher per year. It was so cool that both Luke and Ethan got the award on the same day!! Doug was working from home the day of the awards ceremony, so he was able to attend too. So cool!

Sophia’s patriarchal blessing

What a sweet, tender moment. Sophia went fasting to receive her patriarchal blessing. She started crying as soon as the patriarch put his hands on her head. She was sobbing. She said she felt the spirit so strong as he talked about her as a mother and all of the other things he blessed her with. It was a happy, proud mom moment. I’m grateful she had prepared her heart to be so open to the Holy Spirit. She knows where to find true peace, in the gospel of Jesus Christ... I’m so grateful Sophia is in our family and that I am privileged to be her mom. It also made me excited to meet the spirits promised to her.

Logan’s Prayers

Logan says almost every prayer for our family. He cries crocodile tears if he doesn’t get to. We each have a day when we say all the prayers, except when Logan is around, which is almost always. His prayers are darling. Sometimes they are super quick, but sometimes he rambles on and on about things like being safe and please bless we go to schlitterbahn...

We have enough money...

Logan is a huge daddy’s boy, and this separation has been the hardest on him. Almost every day when Doug first started working in Houston, Logan was ask with fire and frustration “where is my dad!” And with tears, “why does he have to be in Houston!”

We explained dad had to work and make money so we could have a house a car and food.

The other morning he woke up and said “we have enough money, dad can come home now.”  He continued, “we already have a house, and car and food. We don’t need anything else .”
