Setting up Refugee Apartments

We've wanted to help with the refugee assistance program, so we took the opportunity over Christmas Break. We were able to help two mornings and worked on several apartments. We also were able to help another elderly lady clean out her home. It was like an episode of hoarders, but nice to be of service.

Animal Shelter and Children's Museum

Ethan really wanted to go to the Animal Shelter, so we left for the Children's Museum early and stopped in to look at the dogs and cats. It was a rough crowd, I guess we shouldn't have expected anything less from downtown Houston! We also ate at Niko Niko's much to Sophie's dismay. She and Preston were at the Stake New Year's Eve dance. Doug took a picture and sent it to her. The museum hadn't changed much, and it was fun to share it with our younger kids who don't have very many memories of it.

Christmas Morning

Porter got a fancy welding helmet, Sophie got the Nike shoes she's been wanting along with some clothes and a thread wallet, Preston got a new bike, Luke and Logan got electric scooters and Ethan got an incubator and lego set. The kids also got a nintendo switch. The big present from mom and dad was a cruise... as long as we decide to get vaccinated and they don't shut down the cruise we're going to cocoa cay and the bahamas during spring break! It was a nice Christmas Day. We opened our gifts to each other, ate breakfast, enjoyed time together, I made a nice Christmas Dinner.
