5th Grade Graduation

Preston’s last day of elementary school. Wow! As he walked across the stage the vp read what he’d written... in 20 years he sees himself as an engineer and his favorite part of 5th Grade was playing dodgeball. Preston worked so hard this year. In his GT evaluation his teacher talked about now kind and considerate he is. He has such a good attitude and is obedient and pleasant to be with. I can’t believe he’s going to middle school next year!

I believe you mommy...

Logan and I had issues this morning over his shirt.  He wouldn’t tell me which shirt he wanted, even though he clearly knew.  Since I am not a mind reader, I picked one for him and we rushed out the door.  Then I buckled him, heaven forbid. He cried all the way to Sophia’s school. I carried him in, held him the whole time we were in line (35 min) another story, he was super upset and wanted to  be held. On the way back to the car I apologized for upsetting him and asked him to forgive me. Tonight he came up to me and looked me straight in the eye, and said, “I believe you mommy,” I said “you forgive me?” He nodded, gave me the sweetest hug and a bazillion kisses,  Ahhhh,,, I love that kid!

The Candy Man

The little boys don’t know his name... where most call him Bishop Nicholls, our kids call him ‘the candy man.’ 😂

Dinner in Gruene

Happy 11th Birthday!

The Jordan’s came over Memorial Day Weekend to help Preston celebrate Preston’s bday. We had a BBQ and ice cream cake on Sunday. Starting off the bday celebration with a bang!

Opening presents on the big day. He got camping gear (tent and sleeping bag) and some books he’s been wanting (Five Kingdoms and Fablehaven.) Logan picked out gummy lifesavers, Luke picked out Capri
Suns and Ethan got him Connect Four game, skittles and a frisbee. It was cute to see the little boys be so worried about picking out presents for Preston. Showing him love!

Luke Lost his First Tooth!

Luke has had a loose tooth for a couple of weeks. He sped up the loosening process today with some corn on the cob. It bled a lot, but he is anxious to welcome the tooth fairy tonight!

Group Hug!!

I was giving Doug a hug when suddenly, Logan ran up and threw his arms around my leg, we lifted him up to join us, before we knew it Sophia wrapped her arms around us, after a minute Ethan and Preston joined us for a huge group hug!!

Kid Car...

It’s perfect! 2008 Saturn, 140 K, less than $3000. If it gets wrecked. We won’t buy another one. Just collision insurance. Easy to park and maneuver. Not crazy amounts of power. Such a blessing.

Luke’s Talent Show

Last day of preschool at Kids Day Out. They school sponsored a talent show. I just have to say... Luke rocks!! He wanted to solve his Rubik’s cube. There was a full crowd to watch, but he didn’t get stage fright. He marched right up into the stage, and told everyone in a loud voice... “For my talent I am going to solve a Rubik’s cube.” He asked for a volunteer to scramble it.
He called up Asher. Asher took longer to scramble it than it took Luke to solve it. In 10 seconds he was done, with a big smile. He carries himself so well, and with confidence. I was proud of him. Sophia cake and watched too (She talked me into letting her skip the start of school.) She said it was totally worth it.

Ethan is in GT!

After two rounds of testing, Ethan missed GT by 1 point. His teacher encouraged me to apply for reconsideration (which you can only do if you miss by 1 point.) She kept saying, we know he is GT. So I filled out the paperwork. They did more testing on him (he said it was lots of puzzles). I got the letter today that he made it in!! I know he is going to enjoy the extra projects!

Sophia’s Band Concert

Sophia isn’t continuing on with band next year, so this was her last one! She is ending on a good note. The concert was great, and she placed first chair in a higher band next year! She learned a lot and advanced a lot this year. She just has other classes she wants to take and other things she wants to spend her time on.

Landa Park

The big kids started swim team two weeks before the little kids. We entertained ourselves while they swam by playing at Landa Park
