Grand Oaks Swim Team 2023-24

 

Preston had a great swim season. He worked so hard, never missed a practice, or even missed the bus which is significant, because he had to be at the high school at 5 am every morning to catch the bus to practice. His hard work and dedication paid off as he saw huge drops in his times in his events! He moved into the A relays and made it to region!

Baby Miles

Kayla had her baby the day we got back from Las Vegas. She was in labor from Fri to Sun. I was able to go meet baby Miles the day he was born. I went the next day and Katy went home and took care of a few things. I got to just sit and hold Miles.  Such a a special time! Those new babies bring a bit of heaven with them. Logan sent this note with me to give to her.

 About a week later Kayla invited us all over to her house so the boys could meet Miles and so we could all meet Cooper.

Destination Imagination 2023

 Luke and Logan were both on different DI teams this year. So fun. And so much work...

Luke's group did a fine arts challenge.

Logan's group did an engineering challenge.

Doug and I were in Las Vegas for the actual competition, so Corbin and Layla's mom, Lindsay took Luke and Logan as her own and got them where they needed to be.

U-2 Concert in Las Vegas

Vaughn knows the sound engineer from U-2 and he helped us get the friends and family tickets to U-2 in the Las Vegas Sphere. The venue was amazing. The concert was great. Steve and Pam met us there. We went out to dinner before hand and loved spending time with them and going to the concert together. Such a great weekend.
