Cross-Country Awesomeness
Porter ran in his first cross country race of the season. He was amazing! 13:24, a PR for the two mile. Out of twenty teams, his team took 2nd overall. He came in 17th (2nd for Woodridge). There were 208 runners in his age division. So fun to watch! Oh yeah, and he ran @ 11:30 am in the blazing heat!!

Birthday Cupcakes at Jessie Jones Park
We kicked off Ethan's birthdays celebration by inviting some friends to join us for cupcakes at Jessie Jones park. Sophie and Ethan made the cupcakes the night before (cute sibling bonding time!) Friday morning we hit the park with lots of friends ... Jett, Levi, Olivia, Izzy, Stella, Addie, and lots of siblings and moms. He came home with a new cape and mask and walkie talkies. Both gifts were quickly claimed by Luke, who thought they should be his... Especially the cape and mask! Ethan was a peacemaker and shared the cape. The walkie talkies, on the other hand were harder to share.
Logan cut his first tooth - 9-2
I could feel that the gum was hard in Sunday at church when Logan chomped down on my finger. He got his shots on Monday, and was not a happy camper. He ran 102/103 fever that night and was cranky the next day. I attributed it to the vaccinations. On Wednesday he was chewing on my finger again and I felt the tooth!! It explained a lot... Golden
To Luke the color yellow is golden. Example... We were mixing colors for his tye dye cake. I asked him, "what color is this?" (Meaning yellow)... His reply, an enthusiastic, "golden!!"

On the way to school we rehearsed what he was going to say about his props at preschool. These were his exact words, unscripted and unprompted by me... (Although the oaintbrush must have been an idea from school, because he and Jett both had a oaintbrush.)
Happy 3rd Birthday Luke!!!
What fun! What exuberance, what life! He lives birthdays!! Especially his own. I heard him singing "Happy Birthday to Luke" 3 or 4 times... So darling! He loved all his presents. Lots of expressions of delight as he opened them.

Ethan is a very persistent driving force to get us out the door and doing fun things.
Lemon bar vs lemonies
Sophie and I have been having Sunday afternoon bakeoffs. We each pick a different recipe for a similar product and bake away. The boys are our judges. Today, the decision was pretty split between the two. When we baked off homemade brownies vs brownie's in a box, the box brownies won, hands down. It's been a fun way to bond and find the very best of the best recipes.
