Nap time

The house was awfully quiet, so I went looking for Ethan. I found the boy who never takes naps asleep. He had tucked himself in bed at 1pm for a nice little afternoon snooze.

The Giving Tree

For Sophie's GT project she had to create a project about helping someone in need.  This was her brainstorming giving tree.  I thought her ideas were really sweet.  She ended up choosing to help someone who needed clothing.  Her project was hypothetical, but she created a plan for raising money, researched what she would buy, created a presentation board, notebook and oral report.  A huge job for someone in 3rd grade.  But she did great!

Sophie's GT Expo

We are so proud of our Sophie! She really worked hard on her "Giving Journey." It was a hypothetical project where she selected a person to give a gift to. She also had to figure out how to earn the money. She wanted to buy clothes for a little girl who didn't have much money. She planned on earning money by starting a dog walking business. She had to put together a portfolio, a tri-fold display, do a class presentation and participate in the expo showcasing her project. Way to go Sophie!

Porter's Priesthood Ordination

We are so proud of Porter!  He received the Aaronic priesthood. Doesn't he look all grown up?  When the Bishop presented him before the congregation, he talked about how during his interview with Porter he could tell that Porter was well prepared to take this step and receive the priesthood.  Doug gave him a beautiful blessing during his ordination.  Grandma Barbara came to support him on this big day!

Sports Day

Our Saturday's this fall have been filled with sports, Preston's soccer, and Sophie's volleyball.  When Grandma Barbara came to visit she went to all of our games with us.  She snapped these cute pictures to illustrate our life!

Ethan the student

Ethan is one of the most enthusiastic students I have ever seen.  He is darling!!! He loves his home co-op preschool. He loves the stories, and the songs, and the crafts.  He answers questions and volunteers comments.  He is so proud of the work he brings home.  He also goes to a mommy and me music class. Again... darling!  He raises his hand and bounces in his seat, just hoping he'll get selected.  He calls out answers with a smile.  He sings all the songs and does all the hand actions.  There are no discipline problems with him.  He is fully engaged!  The same goes for the library story time as well.  It is a joy to take him to these different activities!

We made this fun frog snack when it was my turn to teach.

Rainy Day Bike Ride with Grandma B

Grandma Barbara came to visit for Porter's birthday and priesthood ordination.  While here she came with us on a walk after the rain.  Ethan loved splashing in the puddles.  He even got stuck in the middle of one and Grandma sacrificed by taking her shoes off and wading through the rain water to rescue him.  She walked home barefoot.  We took Ethan and Luke to the indoor playground too and she played with them the whole time. She even crawled unto the toys and ran around the toys in games of chase with her grandkids and the rest of the kids on the playground.  They all had such a great time.  All the kids on the playground loved her.  They all gave her hugs when they left.  So sweet!
