A visit from Uncle Vaughn

We love that Vaughn makes it down to see once a year.  It makes us feel loved!  The kids love their crazy uncle! This time he showed up with a full beard. He was here for Sophie's birthday.

Since he was here just before Ethan's birthday, we took Ethan to the mall and Vaughn treated him to his first Build a Bear.  Ethan loved picking out his own puppy, and has since carted him around, buckling him in the car, and loving on him a lot.

American Girl Doll

 

Sophie saved her money for months and months, probably close to 7 months, to be able to have enough money to buy an American Girl Doll. She decided that she wanted it for her birthday, so she paid half and Mom and Dad paid half.  We went and picked out the doll at the beginning of her birthday month, and she didn't open it until our birthday trip to the American Girl store with her friend. Kayla.  Sophie picked out the doll that looked the most like her. They are twins! We went to lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen with Katy and Kayla.  We spent our sweet time browsing every inch of the American Girl store.  It was a great girls morning! So proud of Sophie for setting a goal and achieving it!

American Girl Doll

Sophie has wanted an American Girl doll for months.  She saved up half the money and we gave her the other half of the money for her birthday.  We took a day and went to the store to pick out the perfect doll that looks just like her.  It was a special mother/daughter day!
